«Le Coq et le Renard» is the children's fable by Alexandre Jardin, illustrated by Fred Multier, in hardcover from Hachette Jeunesse (30 pages, in French).
Adaptation of Jean de La Fontaine's fable: a rooster and a fox meet, and the fox tries to get the rooster down from the tree with a conciliatory speech. The rooster's cunning and distrust turn the encounter into a little comedy with a moral.
Part of the «Les petits secrets des Fables» collection, which brings La Fontaine's fables to early readers. Published in 2016.
Recommended for early readers and for family read-aloud sessions, within the children's and young adult catalogue.
Alexandre Jardin is a French writer, film director and winner of the Prix Femina, 1988, for Le Zèbre.
