«Le coupeur de mots» is the children's novel by Hans Joachim Schädlich, published by Flammarion in paperback (72 pages, in French).
Paul is a boy who accepts the offer of Filolog, a strange character who takes care of his homework in exchange for his prepositions and definite articles. Losing those words makes his way of speaking so ridiculous that the whole class laughs at him; even so, when he wants to renew the deal, Filolog asks for verb forms, and Paul discovers the true value of grammar.
The work belongs to the Castor Poche romans collection and this French edition was published in 2011.
Recommended for child and young readers from about 8 years old who are beginning to enjoy short novels.
