«Le dernier Hammett» is the crime novel by Juan Sasturain, published by Editions Gallimard in paperback (768 pages, in French).
After leaving prison, Dashiell Hammett retires to Katonah to write. There, Colonel Lindgren, alias Tulip, a shady figure from the Aleutian Islands campaign, reappears and draws him into a dangerous plot. The work combines suspense, investigation and digressions, with characters who oscillate between friends and suspects, and plays with the mirrors between reality and fiction.
Originally published in Spanish, this French edition is translated by Sébastien Rutés. Winner of the Hammett Prize.
For readers of crime fiction and those interested in the figure of Dashiell Hammett and the interplay between reality and fiction.
