In this original and humorous tale, Pierre Gripari introduces us to a peculiar character: the 'spanking merchant'. Spankings are described as creatures resembling birds or butterflies with hands instead of wings, always looking for a place to land. Faced with a lack of demand, the merchant devises a plan that backfires, offering a story full of wit and an unexpected moral. Illustrated by Claude Lapointe, this book is a classic of French children's literature that combines fantasy and mischief.
