«Le Visiteur du Sud, Tome 1» is the autobiographical comic by Korean author Oh Yeong Jin, published by FLBLB Revue in paperback (228 pages, in French).
Oh Yeong Jin, a South Korean KEPCO technician, is sent to North Korea to install pipelines. There, the lack of resources and rigid daily organization complicate the work, and conversations brush against politics without questioning state ideology. His exchanges with North Koreans, convoluted and comic, reveal common ground.
First volume of the series «Le Visiteur du Sud». The Korean original was published in 2004; this French edition includes a foreword by Étienne Davodeau and translation by Ko Yujin and Thomas Dupuis.
For readers of autobiographical comics and chronicles about North Korea, with a close and often humorous look at the differences between North and South.
