«L'Elmer» is the children's picture book by David McKee, published by Beascoa in hardcover (32 pages, in Catalan).
Elmer is an elephant of a thousand colors, different from all the others in his herd, and he is tired of being stared at for being different. One day he decides to run away to try to turn gray like the rest; his encounter with the jungle and with his companions will show him that his way of being is precisely what makes him special.
McKee himself also provides the illustrations. The Catalan translation is by Irene Villalta Gómez. The book is part of the «Contes infantils» collection.
Aimed at early readers and family reading from age 4, with stories about self-esteem and respect for differences.
David John McKee, was a British writer and illustrator, chiefly of children's books and animations.
