«Les Malheurs de César» is a children's picture book by Anne-Marie Chapouton, illustrated by Gérard Franquin, published by Père Castor Flammarion in paperback.
The title alludes to the mishaps of César, a mouse in red-and-white striped pajamas. On the cover he lies in bed, tucked under a blue blanket with yellow polka-dot pillows, in a warm, homely setting.
It was published on May 7, 1999 in the Albums du Père Castor collection. The book has 23 pages and the text is in French.
Aimed at a children's audience; the short text and illustrations make it suitable for first encounters with reading in French.
French translator and children's writer (1939–2000)
