«L'hivern del Sr. Jeroni» is the children's and young adult novel by Eulàlia Canal, published by Angle in hardcover (136 pages, in Catalan).
The novel naturally addresses grief, loneliness, and acceptance of old age. Mr. Jeroni shares his home with Vladimir, a helpful and somewhat impertinent robot; his grandson Boi, to whom he passes on his passion for clocks, is one of his few joys. An incident in the house opposite disrupts his routine and broadens the concept of family.
Volume 11 of the L'Arca collection, illustrated by Jordi Vila Delclòs and winner of the Premi Llibreter for narrative in the Catalan children's and young adult literature category (2022).
A book suitable for readers aged 9 to 13 who want a relatable story about old age, family, and emotional bonds.
