«Life and How to Survive It» is the psychology and self-help essay by Robin Skynner and John Cleese, published by Random House UK in paperback (304 pages, in English).
The book arises from a dialogue between psychiatrist Robin Skynner and comedian John Cleese to explore why the world works as it does and how that affects each person. It acts as a map for everyday life: it analyzes how relationships form and why some thrive and others fail, and addresses cooperation, competitiveness, humor, health and the capacity to cope with change.
Companion work to «Familias y cómo sobrevivirlas», also signed by both authors. It includes concepts such as the three parts of the human psyche (id, ego and superego) and a reflection on consciousness and group life.

John Marwood Cleese is an English actor, comedian, screenwriter, producer, and presenter. Emerging from the Cambridge Footlights in the 1960s, he first achieved success at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and as a scriptwriter and performer on The Frost Report. In the late 1960s, he cofounded Monty Python, the comedy troupe responsible for the sketch show Monty Python's Flying Circus. Along with his Python costars Graham Chapman, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin, Cleese starred in the films Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), Life of Brian (1979), and The Meaning of Life (1983).
