«L'illa de Maians» is a short story collection by Quim Monzó, published by Quaderns Crema in paperback (184 pages, in Catalan).
The volume brings together stories in which Monzó refines his narrative voice with precise rhythm, restraint and a cultured, witty tone, as critics noted. Press praise highlights the maturity of Monzó's third collection of narratives and links the work to the playful universe of Kafka and Borges.
The book belongs to the Mínima Minor collection (no. 18). It is the second edition, revised by Quim Monzó, published on June 10, 1985. It won the Serra d'Or Critics' Prize for Stories and Narratives in 1986.
For the general reader interested in the literary short story and in Catalan narrative with humor.
