«L'illa de Maians» is the short story collection by Quim Monzó, published by Quaderns Crema in paperback (149 pages, in Catalan).
Short stories portraying the loneliness and lack of communication in contemporary life, with ironic humor and a certain surreal drift. Everyday situations slide into the absurd and the fantastic, and the author uses that contrast to unsettle the reader.
Work awarded the Premi Crítica Serra d'Or de Contes i Narracions in 1986 and Quim Monzó's third book of stories, in the Mínima de butxaca collection (no. 18).
Catalan edition for readers of contemporary short fiction and of Quim Monzó's ironic and absurd humor.
