«Linda, como en el asesinato de Linda» is the crime novel by Leif GW Persson, published by Grijalbo in paperback (560 pages, in Spanish).
In the middle of a heatwave, a young woman is murdered in the Swedish city of Växjö, and the case is assigned to Inspector Evert Bäckström, a policeman with unorthodox methods and a difficult manner. While the crime dominates headlines and talk shows, Bäckström leads an investigation constantly tested by his own character and media pressure.
First installment in the Inspector Evert Bäckström series. The translation from Swedish is by Carmen Montes Cano.
For readers of Scandinavian crime fiction and police procedurals seeking a gruff, irascible protagonist far from the genre's archetypes.
Leif Gustav Willy Persson is a Swedish criminologist and novelist. Persson has four children, one of whom, Malin Persson Giolito, is also a crime writer.
