The Daewoo factory in Pondange is the only source of employment in this formerly prosperous part of Lorraine. Despite the difficult working conditions, everyone clings to their job. Until the day an accident provokes the revolt of the employees who go on strike. Beyond this conflict, dark regional and national political-economic issues are brought to light.
Dominique Manotti is a French crime writer and economic historian. She has written more than a dozen books, many of which have been translated. Among her many prizes is the 2011 Grand Prix de Littérature Policière, the most prestigious award in French crime fiction.
