«Los amigos mudos» is a short story collection by Consol Truchero Coma, published by Adeshoras in paperback (156 pages, in Spanish).
The nineteen stories often take place in small towns and rural settings, where characters face ethical conflicts, emotional bonds, losses and ruptures. Several stories feature children as protagonists. The prose is sober, direct and attentive to detail, and that sustained voice gives coherence to the whole.
Jordi Llavina i Murgadas is the prologue author and translator into Spanish. Raquel Fernández Sáez is the graphic designer. First edition published on March 15, 2019.
For readers of contemporary short fiction, especially those interested in stories with a rural and everyday setting.
