«Los amores periféricos» is a collection of short stories by Spanish writer Leopoldo Alas, published by Temas de Hoy in paperback (171 pages, in Spanish).
The volume brings together eight stories that approach love through experiences such as farewell, desire, absence or the search for peace: «Adiós a las armas», «El amor ausente», «Nada te turbe» and others. Leopoldo Alas observes emotional life through everyday characters and situations, showing the complexity of love and its contradictions.
The author, Leopoldo Alas Mínguez (1962-2008), published this work in the Tiempo de encuentro collection, in Madrid, in 1997.

Leopoldo Enrique García-Alas y Ureña, also known as Clarín, was a Spanish realist novelist and journalist born in Zamora. His inflammatory articles, known as paliques (“chitchat”), as well as his advocacy of liberalism and anti-clericalism, made him a formidable and controversial critical voice. He died in Oviedo.
