«Los ojos prohibidos» is Alberto Hernando's collection of short stories, published by Montesinos in paperback (176 pages, in Spanish).
The book brings together two series of twenty texts: «Ukronias», an alternate history ranging from Eden to a future dominated by women, and «De aquellos ojos, estos lodos», stories of blindness, sex and death that challenge morality. Between them, «Tía Alba», a realist tale about memory; at the close, «Laberinto», a fable about history as a labyrinth.
It is part of Montesinos's Narrativa contemporánea collection, which published it in 2008 in Spain.
For readers of contemporary fiction who enjoy short stories blending alternate history, raw realism and moral transgression.
