«Los recreos del pequeño Nicolás» is the children's book by Goscinny and Sempé, published by Alfaguara in paperback, 116 pages in Spanish.
Nicolas and his classmates turn recess into a small world of games and mischief: when the bell rings, they can finally put all their ideas into practice. Amid races, laughter and misunderstandings, the stories portray school life with humor and a child's perspective, with illustrations by Sempé.
Second title in the Little Nicolas series, originally published as Les récrés du petit Nicolas in 1961; Spanish translation by Esther Benítez.
Recommended for readers aged 8 to 10.
Jean-Jacques Sempé, usually known as Sempé, was a French cartoonist. He is known for the series of children's books he created with René Goscinny, Le Petit Nicolas, and also for his poster-like illustrations, usually drawn from a distant or high viewpoint depicting detailed countrysides or cities. For decades, he created covers for The New Yorker.
