«María Triste y el cuentacuentos» is a collection of short stories by Óscar Sotillos López, published by Baile del Sol in paperback (106 pages, in Spanish).
María Triste is a woman weighed down by inner sorrows who cannot cry because her tear duct is blocked; tears accumulate in her chest. Named thus by the local children, she wanders the cobbled streets of Barcelona, evasive and silent, wrapped in her mysterious grief.
It is number 26 in the Sitio de fuego collection. First edition published by Baile del Sol in March 1999.
For readers of literature and fiction interested in short story collections by Spanish authors.
