«Marinero en tierra» is the poetry collection by Rafael Alberti, published by Alianza Editorial in paperback (154 pages, in Spanish).
The collection evokes the sea of the author's Cádiz childhood, seen from land with nostalgia, light and musicality. Alberti combines the tradition of the Romancero, Gil Vicente and Galician-Portuguese lyric with neopopularist and avant-garde aesthetics, in resplendent images. Winner of the National Literature Prize.
This edition belongs to Alianza's El libro de bolsillo collection; the collection was originally published in 1925.
For readers of 20th-century Spanish poetry and for those who appreciate the fusion of tradition and avant-garde.

Rafael Alberti Merello was a Spanish poet, a member of the Generation of '27. After the Spanish Civil War, he went into exile because of his Marxist beliefs.
