«Marinero en tierra» is the poetry collection by Rafael Alberti, published by Plaza & Janés in paperback (160 pages, in Spanish).
Written in 1925 and winner of the National Literature Prize, the collection evokes nostalgia for the sea and Cádiz from the perspective of one who remains on land: marine images, childhood memories, and a light, luminous musicality express the author's melancholy far from his native world.
First title in Rafael Alberti's «Biblioteca de autor» collection, within the «El Ave Fénix» series.
Aimed at readers of Spanish poetry and twentieth-century literature, and at those interested in the work of Rafael Alberti.

Rafael Alberti Merello was a Spanish poet, a member of the Generation of '27. He is considered one of the greatest literary figures of the so-called Silver Age of Spanish Literature, and he won numerous prizes and awards. He died aged 96. After the Spanish Civil War, he went into exile because of his Marxist beliefs. On his return to Spain after the death of Franco, Alberti was named Hijo Predilecto de Andalucía in 1983, and Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universidad de Cádiz in 1985.
