«Memorie di un cane giallo e altri racconti» is a collection of stories by O. Henry, published by Adelphi in 2013 in paperback (406 pages, in Italian).
O. Henry, pseudonym of Samuel Porter, discovered his vocation as a writer in prison. His stories portray a primitive, naive and optimistic America, with vagrants and marginal characters; they are entertaining narratives, carefree in tone, that play with invention and the improbable.
It belongs to the Gli Adelphi series (no. 440), with an introduction by Giorgio Manganelli. The cover reproduces «Eagle Head, Manchester, Massachusetts», by Winslow Homer.
For readers looking for short, entertaining and light reads, with portraits of peculiar characters from the United States.
Henry Otto was an American silent film actor, director, producer, and screenwriter.
