«Menteur» is the novel by Patrick Cauvin, published in 1993 by Albin Michel in paperback (249 pages, in French).
Antoine Berthier waits in Doctor Pamphile's waiting room. His unremarkable appearance belies a dizzying, dangerous, amorous and calamitous life: Antoine is a colossal and incorrigible liar, an adventurer of deceit and master of artifice, someone outwardly as ordinary as anyone.
Patrick Cauvin also appears as Claude Klotz in bibliographic records; the cover bears the subtitle «roman» and a caricature illustration of a man with a prominent nose.
For readers of novels in French and for those who want to meet a deceptive character from French literature.
Claude Klotz, better known by his pen name Patrick Cauvin, was a French teacher turned writer. He was born in Marseille and died in Paris.
