«Mercado de espejismos» is the esoteric intrigue novel by Felipe Benítez Reyes, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (396 pages, in Spanish).
Corina and Jacob, retired art thieves, are commissioned to steal the relics of the Three Kings in Cologne. The commission comes from a mystical Mexican who dreams of building a prism to see God. The novel parodies esoteric intrigues and reflects on the fragility of thought and the need to invent life.
The work received the Premio Nadal in 2007, the year of its original publication. The Círculo de Lectores edition includes a dust jacket.
Felipe Benítez Reyes is a Spanish writer. He was born in Rota, province of Cádiz, where he lives to this day.
