«Mercat d'històries» is the anthology of stories and poems from Africa and the Caribbean by Germano Almeida and other authors (Icaria editorial, 256 pages, in Catalan).
Collective anthology bringing together stories and poems by eighteen authors from Africa and the Caribbean. The selection shows a living literature, marked by exile, diaspora and cultural mixing; its authors reject labels such as «literatura étnica» and defend a universal voice with diverse narrative strategies and a will to break taboos.
First edition in paperback, published in Barcelona in 2003; volume 8 of the Compañía de letras collection.
For readers interested in contemporary African and Caribbean literature and in narrative proposals of cultural mixing.
