«Mi abuela va al mercado» is the children's story by Stella Blackstone, published by Intermon Oxfam in hardcover (24 pages, in Spanish).
The grandmother travels the world on a magic carpet and, at each market she visits, buys treasures that help young readers count from 1 to 10. The journey passes through different countries and combines rhymes, maps and colorful scenes to bring numbers to children in a playful way.
Published by Intermon Oxfam in 2006, it is recommended for readers aged 7 to 9.
A good starting point for sharing read-aloud and practicing numbers with early readers, thanks to its rhymes and the story's cumulative structure.
