«Mi primer Cid» is the children's and young adult book by José María Plaza, published by Espasa in paperback (176 pages, in Spanish).
The volume brings together two texts: «La verdadera historia de Rodrigo», a novel about the life of the Cid, and «Primer cantar de Mio Cid», an accessible version of the epic poem. The book brings the hero's figure closer from his historical background to the legend of the cantar.
The book, illustrated by Jvlivs, was originally published on October 19, 2006.
Aimed at children and young adult readers who are starting out in Spanish literature and the figure of the Cid.
