«¡Mini es la mejor!» is a children's book by Christine Nöstlinger, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (64 pages, in Spanish).
Mini sees that her classmates each excel at something: Maxi sings, Xandi draws, and Gabi dances. She only considers herself good at mental arithmetic and doubts that would interest anyone, so she imagines alternative lives to feel special. A fun story about social recognition and self-confidence.
This volume is the fifth in the «Mini» series, part of the El Barco de Vapor Azul collection; its original title is «Mini ist die Grösste».
Aimed at boys and girls aged 7 to 8 who are starting to read chapter books.
Christine Nöstlinger was an Austrian writer best known for children's books. She received one of two inaugural Astrid Lindgren Memorial Awards from the Swedish Arts Council in 2003, the biggest prize in children's literature, for her career contribution to "children's and young adult literature in the broadest sense." She received the Hans Christian Andersen Medal for "lasting contribution to children's literature" in 1984 and was one of three people through 2012 to win both of these major international awards.
