«Mites i llegendes» is a collection of studies by Maria Bargalló and Joana Zaragoza (eds.), published by Cossetània Edicions in paperback.
The volume brings together studies on how societies have built myths and legends to transmit beliefs and a worldview. Their birth and evolution are analyzed, as is the use made of them by writers and society. The approaches are interdisciplinary: history, philology, art, anthropology, film, geography, medicine, psychology and law. It also addresses the current tendency to mythify characters and concepts that act as social references.
Fourth volume in the Antines collection, in its first edition of 2002.
For readers interested in mythology, anthropology and cultural studies who read Catalan.
