«Nadarín» (Swimmy) is the children's story written and illustrated by Leo Lionni, published by Lumeneditorial in hardcover and in Spanish.
Nadarín is a little black fish who loses his companions when a tuna swallows them. Wandering alone through the sea, he finds a school of small fish living in fear; he suggests they swim together to form the silhouette of a big fish and thus scare away predators. A story about ingenuity, friendship, and the value of unity.
Translation by Ana María Matute. The original Swimmy is from 1963 and this Spanish edition from 1996. The work was nominated for the Caldecott Medal and won the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis.
Suitable for children aged 4 to 8 and for Spanish students in second and third grade.
