«El Somni D'en Mateu» is the children's book by Leo Lionni and Montserrat Gispert, published by Editorial Juventud (32 pages, in Catalan).
The book tells the dream of Mateu, a little mouse, accompanied by another gray mouse in a landscape of geometric shapes and vivid colors. The illustrations, with an abstract sun and simple compositions, reinforce the tone of fantasy and imagination of the story, designed for early readers.
An illustrated story for children, especially suitable for first encounters with reading.
Leo Lionni was an American writer and illustrator of children's books. Born in the Netherlands, he moved to Italy and lived there before moving to the United States in 1939, where he worked as an art director for several advertising agencies, and then for Fortune magazine.
