«Narraciones inverosímiles» is the collection of short stories by Pedro Antonio de Alarcón, published by Bruguera in 1982 in paperback (253 pages, in Spanish).
The volume brings together short stories that blend the fantastic, the romantic and the humorous, set in 19th-century Spain. Alarcón's prose demonstrates his craft in the short story and his inclination for the implausible, in self-contained tales that can be read independently.
It belongs to Bruguera's Libro Amigo collection. The cover reproduces a figurative oil painting in warm, dark tones.
For readers of classic Spanish literature interested in the fantastic short story and brief narrative.

Pedro Antonio de Alarcón y Ariza was a nineteenth-century Spanish novelist, known best for his novel El sombrero de tres picos (1874), an adaptation of popular traditions which provides a description of village life in Alarcón's native region of Andalusia. It was the basis for Hugo Wolf's opera Der Corregidor (1897); for Riccardo Zandonai's opera La farsa amorosa (1933); and Manuel de Falla's ballet The Three-Cornered Hat (1919).
