«Onnen koukkuja» is the contemporary novel by Grégoire Delacourt, published by WSOY in hardcover (164 pages, in Finnish).
A bittersweet novel about the fragility of happiness. Jocelyne, a middle-aged haberdasher living a simple life caring for her family and friends, wins 18 million euros in the lottery. Instead of claiming the prize, she reflects on how that money could change everything; while she hesitates, someone close to her makes the decision for her.
Finnish translation by Leena Leinonen of the original French novel «La Liste de mes envies» (2012), published by WSOY in 2013.
For readers of contemporary fiction seeking bittersweet stories about everyday life, in the vein of «La elegancia del erizo».
