«Os soños na gaiola» is Manuel María's children's poetry book, published by Xerais in paperback (96 pages, in Galician).
The volume brings together fifty poems that explore the Galician children's universe with a simple, rhythmic tone. Two opening compositions dedicated to Galicia open the book; then come the sun, the sea, the river or the wind, as well as trades, everyday objects, games, farmworkers and many animal species.
This Xerais edition, from 2008, belongs to the Merlín collection and features illustrations by Xaquín Marín. The work was originally published in 1968.
Recommended for readers aged 9 to 12, especially for discovering children's poetry in Galician.
