«Pandillas rivales» is the children's and young adult novel by Javier Malpica Maury, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (128 pages, in Spanish).
Twins Susana and Alfredo each create their own gang with school friends: one of girls and one of boys. The two challenge each other to decide who does it better, but an important mission shows them that collaborating and leaving prejudices behind is worth more than winning. The story is told with interspersed diaries.
It is part of the El Barco de Vapor Naranja collection (number 168) and was published in 2004.
Recommended reading for children aged 8 to 12, also as school support to address friendship, equality and teamwork.
