«Pare, jo vull ser pirata» is a children's picture book by Javier Marquina, published by La Galera in paperback (24 pages, in Catalan).
The book invites readers to think about what they want to be when they grow up and offers a playful possibility: being a fierce pirate. From that question, the work accompanies the reader in imagining what a pirate's life would be like, among ships, skull-and-crossbones flags and fantasy games, in a highly visual proposal.
It is number 6 in the Cues de Sirena collection. Javier Marquina also provides the illustrations. First published in 2001.
For early readers aged 6, especially recommended as reading in Catalan.
