«Patria» is the contemporary novel by Fernando Aramburu, published by Planeta in paperback (656 pages, in Spanish).
When ETA announces the abandonment of arms, Bittori returns to the village to face the past and find out who killed her husband. Her presence disturbs the apparent calm of the place, especially for Miren, an old friend and mother of an imprisoned terrorist. The story of both women shows a broken community, the impossibility of forgetting and the search for forgiveness.
