«Pères, mères, enfants» is the essay by Christine Castelain Meunier, published by Flammarion in paperback (125 pages, in French).
Sociologist Christine Castelain Meunier analyzes the social changes that have redefined the family and the difficulties fathers and mothers face in assuming their roles. She describes a plurality of parental and educational models linked to filiation and alliance, and argues that school should treat the child as a subject and not merely as a student.
The book was published in 1998 in the Dominos collection (number 184), with the subtitle «Un essai pour comprendre, un essai pour réfléchir».
It is aimed at parents, educators and readers interested in the sociology of the family and the current role of school.
