«Persona non grata» is Jorge Edwards's account of his diplomatic experience in Cuba, published by Alfaguara in hardcover (408 pages, in Spanish).
Jorge Edwards reconstructs his stay in Havana as a representative of Salvador Allende's government and his growing disillusionment with the authoritarian course of the Cuban Revolution. It is one of the first critical looks by a foreign intellectual at Castroism, exposed to the censorship and dogma of an era.
Originally published in 1973, the book was banned by both the left and the right. This edition, part of the Hispánica collection, came out in 2006.
For readers interested in the political history of Cuba and Latin America and in personal testimony as a historical source.

Jorge Edwards Valdés was a Chilean novelist, journalist and diplomat. He was the Chilean ambassador to France during the first Sebastián Piñera presidency.
