«Pièce détachée» is the crime novel by Pieter Aspe, published by Le Livre de Poche in paperback (336 pages, in French).
Three seemingly unrelated events (a complaint for offending public morals, a theft, and a finger found in a parking lot) put Commissioner Van In on a trail that, with Hannelore and Versavel, leads to a corpse missing that finger and to a conspiracy echoing Pinochet's dictatorship in Bruges.
Novel in the «Van In» series, ninth volume; original Dutch title: Vagevuur; published in 2013.
Will appeal to fans of the Van In series and to enthusiasts of crime thrillers with a historical backdrop.
