«Poesía» is the poetry collection by Fray Luis de León, published by Ediciones Cátedra in paperback (224 pages, in Spanish).
This collection brings together the original lyric poetry of Fray Luis de León, a poet of the Spanish Golden Age, along with his versions and translations. Fray Luis's poetry combines the Horatian feeling for nature with a mysticism rooted in Platonic and Pythagorean thought. Each poem is preceded by an introduction that places it within the humanistic genres.
The edition, prepared by Juan Francisco Alcina, belongs to the Letras Hispánicas collection, number 184, and is the eleventh edition.
It is intended for readers of classical poetry interested in an annotated edition of the Spanish Golden Age.
