«Poesías completas» is the collection of poems by San Juan de la Cruz, published by Ediciones Orbis in 1983 in hardcover (205 pages, in Spanish).
It brings together the poetry of San Juan de la Cruz, a Spanish mystic poet. His verses fuse religious and erotic love in the tradition of the Song of Songs, as in «Noche oscura», written largely during his imprisonment, and reflect the soul's union with the divine.
The volume is number 67 of the Historia Universal de la Literatura collection and features an edition by Cristóbal Cuevas.
For readers of mystical poetry, Christian spirituality and classics of Spanish literature.
John of the Cross was a Spanish Catholic priest, mystic, and Carmelite friar. He is a major figure of the Counter-Reformation in Spain, and he is one of the 38 Doctors of the Church.
