«Pompeu Fabra. Entre paraules i esports» is the illustrated album by Victor Amela, published by Vegueta Infantil in hardcover (40 pages, in Catalan).
This illustrated album reveals the lesser-known side of Pompeu Fabra, the great organizer of the Catalan language: that of a promoter of sport in Catalonia, with an interest in tennis, swimming, rugby and aviation and a view of physical activity as a means to grow and overcome oneself.
It is part of the 'Els nostres il·lustres' collection, a series of illustrated biographies of figures from science, culture and history, with 15 color illustrations by David Sancho.
Aimed at readers aged 6 and up, it also serves as school support to bring children closer to figures from Catalan history and culture.
Victor Manuel Amela Bonilla, better known as Víctor Amela is a Spanish writer and journalist present in several media. It is one of the co-creators of the section La contra at La Vanguardia, where he has published more than 1,800 interviews in 15 years.
