«Primeiros contos e outros contos» is a collection of short stories by Agustina Bessa-Luís, published by Relógio D'Água Editores in paperback (208 pages, in Portuguese).
Seventeen stories, fifteen of them previously unpublished, in which Agustina Bessa-Luís explores the essence of oral storytelling: tales told by the fireside and the wisdom of those who know how to pass them on. The author strips her characters of masks and artifice so that voice and word speak for themselves, in stories that remain relevant today.
Published in 2020; with a preface by Mónica Baldaque.
For readers of short fiction and Portuguese literature who want to discover the stories of Agustina Bessa-Luís.
