«Primera història d'Esther» is the play by Salvador Espriu, published by El Observador in paperback (109 pages, in Catalan).
The play was first published in 1948 and, for critics, marked the resumption of the Catalan theatrical scene after years of ostracism. It is considered a statement of resistance in the postwar period and, for many, Salvador Espriu's masterpiece.
This 1991 edition belongs to the collection «Clàssics Catalans del segle XX» and reproduces the dedication written by Espriu to Rosa Leveroni in 1950.
For readers interested in classics of 20th-century Catalan theatre and in the figure of Salvador Espriu.
Salvador Espriu i Castelló was a Catalan poet from Spain.
