A collection of prose pieces by nineteenth-century Spanish authors on Christmas. They evoke homes now uninhabited, vanished families and traditions that will not return, with a nostalgic tone close to personal memory and the domestic life of the era.

For readers of classic Spanish literature seeking short texts with a Christmas atmosphere.
Mariano José de Larra y Sánchez de Castro was a Spanish romantic writer and journalist best known for his numerous essays and his infamous suicide. His works were often satirical and critical of the 19th-century Spanish society, and focused on both the politics and customs of his time.
