«Quan de tu s'allunya» is the graphic novel by Lluís Juste de Nin, published by Edicions de Ponent in hardcover (188 pages, in Catalan).
In June 1940, with Paris occupied, a group of Catalan exiles flees to America: «Met» Miratvilles and the journalists Pubill. The journey gets complicated: refuge in Marseille, visas in North Africa and a crossing from Lisbon to Mexico. In New York they reunite with exiled artists, but the postwar period brings McCarthyism and racism.
The full subtitle is «De l'ocupació de París a la caça de bruixes». Publication year: 2015.
For readers of historical graphic novels interested in the Catalan republican exile.
