«Quel artiste ce Matisse !» is the children's art book by Sylvie Girardet and Nestor Salas, published by RMN in hardcover (37 pages, in French).
This book offers children a first approach to Henri Matisse through games and activities: discovering the Chapel of the Rosary, coloring a bouquet of flowers and untangling a jumble of shapes. The illustrations include fish, birds and wavy lines that evoke Matisse's creative universe.
It is part of the Salut l'artiste collection, an RMN series dedicated to bringing art closer to children. The original publication dates from 2007.
Suitable for children aged 6 to 8, it works as a first introduction to Matisse's art.
