The plot includes the burning of Rome and the persecution of Christians.
The novel was originally published in Polish in 1896 under the title «Quo vadis: Powieść z czasów Nerona». Henryk Sienkiewicz received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1905.
French edition intended for young readers, within Hachette's Bibliothèque Verte collection.
