En el Monte do Gozo, cerca de Compostela, vive Rata Linda. Un día, encuentra una moneda que se le había caído a Don Gato y decide comprar un lazo para ponérselo en la cabeza. Varios animales le piden matrimonio, pero ella acepta casarse con Don Gato, quien solo quiere recuperar su moneda. Rata Linda se deshace de Don Gato y, al final, se encuentra con el Rato, que regresa de su viaje y también le pide matrimonio. Rata Linda acepta y ambos se van juntos a Santiago de Compostela. Este cuento de Bernardino Graña, con ilustraciones de Manolo Uhía, es considerado un clásico de la literatura infantil gallega.
