«Real sitio» is the novel by José Luis Sampedro, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (503 pages, in Spanish).
Two parallel stories cross paths at the Royal Site of Aranjuez: one at the court of Charles IV and another in the months before the Second Republic. Don Alonso, palace quartermaster, experiences a late love; Marta, a librarian, approaches the working-class world and political commitment. Janos, palace guardian, serves as a link between both eras.
Real sitio is the third and final installment of the trilogy «Los círculos del tiempo», published in 1995.
José Luis Sampedro Sáez was a Spanish economist and writer who advocated an economy "more humane, more caring, able to help develop the dignity of peoples".
